American Hornbeam is a compact tree with a nice rounded habit. It features nice shiny green foliage in the summer that is accompanied by ornamental bracts which cover seeds in late summer. Also called Musclewood for its handsome gray fluted bark that is on display in the winter. Grows 20-35' tall with a similar spread.
